Soil and Plant Technology is currently seeking to fill the position of Manager of Field Testing & Support.  (See job description, below)

Manager of Field Testing & Support

Soil and Plant Technology, headquartered in Marion, NC, is seeking to hire a manager level Agronomist. Primary duties will be to work with farmers, crop consultants, university research, extension leaders, and others in sales and support to growers.

Job requirements include:

  • Minimum bachelors degree in agronomy or related field.
  • A minimum of two years field experience with a reputable agriculture product company.
  • A broad knowledge of agriculture crops and a working knowledge of biological products used in agriculture and related fields, such as; golf courses, athletic fields, and horticulture crop production.

Location: This person will work initially in the Southeast, primarily in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  This person will be located centrally in this region, with some flexibility in exact location.

Supervision: This person will work with the Product Chief, field staff, and executive management and report to the President and CEO of the company.

Pay Scale:  The salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $70,000 annually, a company vehicle, travel / business expenses, and health benefits. Salary will be determined by length of directly applied work experience, area of graduate study and other associated professional practices.

Soil Testing Technologist

Soil and Plant Technology is currently seeking applications for Soil Testing Technologists in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Qualified candidates should have experience in agriculture crop production and knowledge of testing equipment, including soil moisture and soil compaction meters and chlorophyll meters. Successful candidate must have a basic knowledge of production agriculture, turf and ornamental crops. High school courses in agriculture and two or four year degrees in agriculture-related fields are desirable.

Job duties include:  Taking and recording soil moisture, porosity and compaction readings, plant leaf and stem chlorophyll contents. Successful candidate will work with the Product Chief, sales staff, and, in some cases, with farmers to schedule on-site testing.

Salary scales for these positions are classified as Soil Testing Technologist I and II. Salary for these positions will ranges from $15-$30 per hour, depending on education and directly applicable work experience.

Location of these positions is flexible within the current three-state (NC, SC and GA) operating base of Soil and Plant Technology.
